Royal College of Art show 2014: the concept cars

Graduate students at the Royal College of Art in London were asked to create cars of the future, with a focus on sustainability and striking a real emotional chord with consumers. The wild Koenigsegg One:1 showed up on our radars late last year before it appeared at the Geneva motor show in March. The latest piece of machinery from company founder--and Michael-Chiklis lookalike--Christian von Koenigsegg delivers one horsepower per kilogram, hence the name. That means 1,360 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque with a 3,000-pound curb weight.

Next Dodge Viper will shed some rough edges

Little by little we're getting a clearer picture of the next-generation Dodge Viper SRT10. During a conversation with Dodge boss Reid Bigland at the Los Angeles auto show, Bigland told me the redesigned Viper "will appeal to a broader segment of the market." The car is expected to debut in 2012 but is not likely to appear at the Detroit auto show, he says. Today's Viper is essentially a street-legal race car.
